The surge in tourist visits following the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holidays is felt evenly across various areas of Bogor Regency. Not only the Puncak area, which has long been the favourite, but several destinations in the remote parts of Bogor Regency are now also thronged by visitors.

“Now it’s not just Puncak that’s crowded, but almost every corner of Bogor Regency is filled with tourists. This shows that development has been felt widely,” said Heri Gunawan, a member of the Bogor Regency DPRD.

According to him, the increase in visits is concrete evidence of the local government’s success in building infrastructure evenly. He also highlighted the significant role of the Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, in opening access and improving the quality of roads leading to tourist destinations.

One highlighted example is the Malasari area. Previously, he said, this region was relatively difficult to reach. “After infrastructure development was carried out, access became more comfortable and directly impacted the increase in tourist visits,” he said.

Several other areas, such as Pamijahan to the Puncak 2 route in the eastern part of Bogor Regency, have also experienced a surge, according to him. Tourists now have more destination choices with increasingly easy access. And the factor of travel comfort becomes the main consideration for tourists in determining their destinations. Good roads, in his view, become the main gateway to the development of the tourism sector in the area.

“Tourists will definitely choose places with easy access. When the roads are good, they come, and the effect is immediately felt by the community,” he said.

The positive impact from this increase in visits is not only felt by tourism players but also by small and medium enterprises (UMKM). The economic activities of residents are also boosted, from street vendors to accommodation and restaurants.

Seeing this achievement, Heri assessed that Rudy Susmanto’s leadership deserves appreciation at the national level, especially in the category of accelerating infrastructure development and driving local economy based on tourism. “This is not just about physical development, but the impact is real—the community’s economy moves, business opportunities open up, and the region develops,” he said.
