The retreat for chairs of regional legislative councils (DPRD) throughout Indonesia has successfully concluded today. Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) Ace Hasan Syadzily, the event’s organiser, expressed hope that the activity would align central and regional government policies as a unified entity within the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Regional policies are expected to remain in line with the direction of central policies without neglecting the needs of communities in each respective area,” said Ace Hasan after the closing of the Leadership Enhancement Course for DPRD Chairs at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday, 19 April 2026, as reported by Antara.

The retreat has been underway since 15 April. The agenda for parliamentary leaders at the provincial, regency, and municipal levels was attended by 503 participants out of a total of 577 invitees.

According to Ace Hasan, the participants followed the entire process well and enthusiastically until the end of the event. The course produced various strategic understandings for regional leaders, including the reinforcement of national values, reminders of the history of Indonesia’s struggle, and comprehensive comprehension of global political dynamics.

Ace Hasan mentioned that one important session in the activity was a special presentation from President Prabowo Subianto regarding recent developments and strategic central government policies. In addition, several ministers delivered materials related to various national priority programmes, covering areas of domestic governance, food security, energy resilience, health, and improving the quality of human resources through the education sector.

To strengthen the integrity of regional leaders, the retreat featured the Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setya Budiyanto. For aspects of law enforcement in supporting the national development agenda, briefings were provided by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Chief of the National Police.

Ace Hasan stated that the role of DPRD chairs is highly strategic as decision-makers in the regions. Therefore, the participants are expected to be able to implement the various materials obtained to support the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision through national development strategies.
