DPRD DKI Responds to AI-Generated Photo in JAKI Report: Don't Submit Reports Just to Please Superiors
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission A, Kevin Wu, has highlighted a report on handling illegal parking via the JAKI app in East Jakarta that was followed up with evidence created using artificial intelligence (AI) fabrication.
He reminded officials not to produce reports merely as formalities to please one party, but based on actual field conditions.
“This is something we deeply regret. We hope that the performance of our field officers results in real outcomes from follow-up complaints that must be accountable. Do not just use reports that are of the ‘asal bapak senang’ or ABS nature,” said Kevin at the DKI DPRD Building, on Monday (6/4/2026).
He viewed the action as a betrayal of the duties that field apparatus should carry out.
“Parties who engage in such efforts will receive reprimands from us, as this is a form of betrayal. For me, it’s a task they should perform but done in such a manner,” said Kevin.
Kevin emphasised that technology should be used to facilitate services to the public, not to deceive.
“Technology should be a convenience, not to deceive the public. This must not set a bad precedent,” he stated.
“I have already asked the Inspectorate to examine whether it was the lurah of Kalisari or the relevant sub-district head,” said Pramono when met in Central Jakarta on Monday.
He stressed that anyone proven guilty must be sanctioned.
Previously, a netizen complained about illegal parking on residential streets in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.
The owner of the Threads account @seinsh stated that residents had reported the illegal parking issue up to the kelurahan level.
Residents also reported it via the JAKI app. However, the report was said not to be resolved.
“How to handle illegal parking on kelurahan roads? Residents protesting directly to the perpetrators didn’t work, reported to the kelurahan level not resolved, tried reporting via JAKI and got fake evidence from AI edits,” wrote the user in the post.
