DPRD DIY's Commission A urges severe punishment for perpetrators of violence at daycare

Violence against children and toddlers is an extraordinary crime. Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Chair of Commission A of the Special Region of Yogyakarta DPRD, Eko Suwanto, supports law enforcement by the police in the case of alleged violence against children at the Little Aresha Yogyakarta daycare. “We give full support to the law enforcement apparatus to process the law in the case of alleged violence that occurred; we urge the law enforcement apparatus to thoroughly uncover this case and impose severe punishment on the masterminds and perpetrators of this crime and violence against children,” said Eko in Yogyakarta on Sunday. According to him, acts of violence against children must not be tolerated, and this case must be fully processed legally. Eko stressed that the violence occurring against children at Little Aresha clearly violates the rights of children and toddlers to grow and develop well. “Children must receive serious protection. We encourage greater attention to be devoted to ensuring that children in Yogyakarta can grow and develop and receive good protection,” he said. He stated that Commission A plans to hold a coordination meeting with related agencies this week. Yogyakarta Police Chief, Kombes Pol Eva Guna Pandia, explained that from the case review, the 13 suspects have different roles within the institution’s structure. “We have designated 13 temporary suspects. Consisting of one foundation head, one school principal, and 11 caregivers,” she said.
