DPRD Bogor Chairman Hopes South Ciawi Off-Ramp Will Ease Congestion

The Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Adityawarman Adil, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the South Ciawi toll road exit ramp (Off Ramp) located at Lorena Sport Hub on Thursday, 9 July 2026. The project is expected to provide a solution to the congestion problems faced by residents of South Bogor. On the occasion, Adityawarman expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this strategic infrastructure project. He assessed that the construction of the off-ramp resulted from synergistic communication between the regional government and various stakeholders. “So this is an extraordinary breakthrough thanks to the communication carried out by our Mayor with various parties, so that this off-ramp can be kicked off today,” said Adityawarman. Adityawarman added that the existence of this new toll road access will have a significant impact on improving daily public mobility and accelerating the wheels of the economy in the Bogor City area. “Hopefully this will help accessibility for South Bogor residents in particular, and Bogor City residents in general. Hopefully, this will become one of the accelerators for development in Bogor City,” he said. At the same location, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim revealed that the project is the result of tactical collaboration between PT Trans Jabar Tol (TJT), PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and Sinar Mas, initiated by the Bogor City Government. The main focus is to facilitate mobility and cut travel time for the public. “All this time, residents of the South Bogor area could go directly towards the toll road or Jakarta. However, the obstacle was when returning, they had to make a detour through Pasar Ciawi, which is often congested. This problem, experienced by residents for years, is thankfully beginning to see a resolution,” said Dedie. The project is being realised through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding support from PT Sinar Mas, with a length of approximately 600 metres and a width of roughly 3.7 metres. In terms of regulation and licensing, the project falls under the full authority of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT). With the opening of this new off-ramp, the volume of vehicles at the Ciawi intersection is expected to decrease drastically because residents will no longer be stuck in traffic jams in the market area. Several sub-districts that will feel the direct impact of easier access include Bojongkerta, Kertamaya, Rancamaya, Dekeng, Cipaku, and Genteng. In addition to easing daily traffic flow, this new route serves a vital function as a mitigation or emergency alternative route. The construction of the South Ciawi Off-Ramp is targeted for completion and ready for public use within one year.
