DPR wants Mega's trip report

JAKARTA: The National Awakening Party (PKB) has requested that
President Megawati Soekarnoputri give a detailed report of her
trip to the U.S. and Japan to the House of Representatives (DPR).

Yusuf Muhammad, chairman of the party's faction in the DPR,
said that legislators needed to know what the President had done
and obtained during the two-week official visit.

Yusuf said that there were issues that had been raised
domestically with regard to her high-level trip which the
President needed to elaborate upon for the public, specifically
regarding what Megawati had promised U.S. President George W.
Bush in return for the multimillion dollar aid package offered by
the U.S. to Indonesia.

"We (DPR) want to know if the conditions, if any, are
politically harmful to Indonesia. Nothing should be hidden," he
said.

The President should report on her visit to DPR leaders, he
