DPR, wake up!
DPR, wake up!
From Kompas
The government is inconsistent and has disappointed the people
when dealing with the debts incurred by business magnates. It's
time for the House of Representatives (DPR) to act sternly when
dealing with this case. Summon the debtors immediately wherever
they are. Give them three days. If they refuse to come, give them
a strong ultimatum along with legal sanctions.
Priority must be given to cases involving business magnates
whose loans amount to over Rp 1 trillion. The DPR should ask them
how much they owe, why they do not want to settle them while they
keep huge deposits in banks abroad, when they will repay their
debts, whether their collateral is sufficient, etc.
Publicize these question and answer sessions widely and openly
on television and in the other media so that the public will know
when the state's money will be returned. The mass media should
not prioritize reports on the establishment of House special
committees, and fuel and electricity hikes.
Remember, the public are waiting for the House members to act.
