Jakarta - Chairman of House of Representatives Commission III Habiburokhman has asked the Indonesian National Police to use the results of the Public Perception Survey and Police Performance Evaluation conducted by Litbang Kompas as motivation to continuously improve services to the public. According to him, the survey results demonstrate public appreciation for the police’s performance while also serving as an impetus to keep making improvements in various aspects of service. “The increase in satisfaction and professionalism figures is the fruit of the dedication of all police personnel, from the headquarters level to the Bhabinkamtibmas officers who are the spearhead of service in villages,” Habiburokhman said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. He stated that the survey results reflect the public’s improved assessment of the professionalism of police services and the high level of public confidence in the institution’s future performance. “They are present when the public needs them, and the public sees and feels that hard work,” he said. Nevertheless, he reminded the police not to become complacent with the survey results. “This achievement should serve as motivation to continue maintaining good performance, making improvements in various aspects that still need enhancement, and consistently being protectors, guardians, and servants of the public,” he said. Separately, Head of the Police Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir expressed appreciation for the support and input provided by House Commission III. “The police view every survey result and input from the public and the DPR as an important part of the evaluation process,” Johnny said. “Therefore, we will continue to strengthen service transformation, improve personnel professionalism, and deliver public services that are increasingly accessible, fast, transparent, and provide legal certainty for the public,” he said. The Public Perception Survey and Police Performance Evaluation for the Second Quarter of 2026 conducted by Litbang Kompas showed the level of public trust in the police reached 82.4 percent. The survey also recorded that the average public assessment of police service professionalism increased from 7.76 in 2025 to 8.37 in 2026. In addition, 82.4 percent of respondents believed the police’s performance would improve in the future. The survey was conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026 with 1,200 respondents across 38 provinces using a face-to-face interview method with a margin of error of approximately 2.83 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
