Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Ahmad Sahroni has called on Kuntadi, newly appointed as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), to prove the prosecutor’s office is an independent institution, particularly in handling the alleged corruption case involving former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. He welcomed the appointment based on Presidential Decree Number 87/TPA Year 2026, stating he knows the former Head of the Asset Recovery Agency possesses integrity. “I know he has strong integrity to resolve the case of the former Jampidsus,” Sahroni said in Jakarta on Wednesday. He also reminded Kuntadi not to engage in any collusion regarding the case ensnaring his predecessor, emphasising that the case must be resolved swiftly. President Prabowo Subianto previously appointed five new senior high-ranking officials within the Attorney General’s Office based on the decree. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated at the Presidential Palace that the appointments followed a proposal from the Attorney General that had passed through the Final Assessment Team. The five appointed officials are Asep Nana Mulyana as Deputy Attorney General, Leonard Ebenezer Simanjuntak as Junior Attorney General for General Crimes, Kuntadi as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Harli Siregar as Head of the Education and Training Agency, and Patris Yusrian Jaya as Head of the Asset Recovery Agency.
