Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, urged the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) to craft regulations that can reassure and make local investors feel comfortable. He also said he had discussed with BEI ways to ensure that retail investors can continue to grow and develop. He said this during a visit to BEI’s building in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), Jakarta, on Tuesday.

‘We are confident that our exchange will be stronger going forward,’ Dasco said.

In addition, he said BEI should also strengthen the entry of global investors into the exchange and make them enjoy the market.

So far, he said, the growth of local or retail investors continues to increase and is accompanied by strengthening fundamentals. He hopes these positive results will be seen on 29 May 2026.

He also expressed gratitude for the hard work of BEI and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) which in recent times have strived to address the situation caused by the global markets due to geopolitical dynamics.

‘Everything done with hard work and good intentions will bear fruit,’ he said.

For this, Dasco visited the IDX Building in SCBD together with the Chair of the OJK Board Frederica Widyasari Dewi and the CEO of Danantara Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) as well as the Minister for Investment and Hilirisasi Rosan Roeslani.

Also present was Dony Oskaria, Head of the Regulation Agency (BP) for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
