Tangerang (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR) has reminded local governments to conduct cooperation with the Tangerang City Government and Jinju City Government in South Korea regarding Smart City in a careful manner and to provide fair benefits for all parties.

“We encourage cooperation with any party, but we must remain vigilant so as not to be taken advantage of. Cooperation must provide positive value and mutual benefits,” said DPR RI Commission VII member Siti Mukaromah during the specific working visit of Commission VII DPR RI to Tangerang City on Monday.

She explained that each region has its own flagship potentials. Increasing local original revenue (PAD) and adding the number of tourists visiting Tangerang City are significant assets that can be developed in the future.

Thus, in the future, the public will know more widely and have an impact on the sales of MSME products, culinary items, and accommodation places.

“Continue to develop the existing potential, do not focus only on the cooperation side. Tangerang City is already very good in terms of PAD, the potential it has, and has received appreciation from various parties,” she said.

“Input from DPR members regarding increasing tourism from abroad will be studied when we also conduct a working visit to South Korea,” she added.

For information, Tangerang City is one of the regions participating in the International Cooperation Programme between Indonesia and South Korea under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. This collaboration aims to integrate the Smart City and Smart Living concepts into the educational ecosystem at various levels.
