DPR to Join Follow-Up Search in Febrie Adriansyah Case, Habiburokhman: To Prevent Slander
The Working Committee of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives will be directly involved in overseeing the follow-up search in the investigation into alleged corruption implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. Chairman of Commission III, Habiburokhman, confirmed that committee members will be present during the search process to ensure all stages proceed transparently. “Yes, that is correct. We will be present. To prevent any slander,” Habiburokhman said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, 11 July 2026. According to Habiburokhman, the committee’s presence aims to avoid speculation regarding the security of high-value evidence seized by investigators. He even joked that such oversight is necessary to prevent alleged manipulation of evidence during the search process. “We must ensure no money is swapped, right? What if the gold bars are replaced with chocolate inside,” Habiburokhman remarked. Previously, a joint police team named Febrie Adriansyah and private sector individual Don Ritto as suspects in three cases of alleged corruption and money laundering related to coal, PT Asabri, and Krakatau Steel. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Task Force and the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate. The suspects were named after investigators searched 13 locations on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. The investigation originated from two reports. The first report concerns alleged corruption and/or money laundering involving state officials in the handling of the PT Asabri and/or Jiwasraya cases for the 2020–2025 period. The second report concerns alleged corruption and/or money laundering in the settlement of PT CBS’s debt to PT KNI during the same period, allegedly involving civil servants or state officials. One of the locations searched was Febrie’s residence in the Sentul area, Bogor Regency, West Java. From that location, investigators seized cash amounting to SGD 3,130,000, USD 889,965, and IDR 259,159,000. When converted, the total value is estimated to be close to IDR 60 billion. In addition to the house in Sentul, investigators also searched 12 other locations in the Greater Jakarta area, including the offices of PT CBS, PT KNI, the DMG/CP Group, PT PML, as well as several residences belonging to individuals with the initials MN, TK, DR, and MILDK.
