DPR to Formulate Single Data Law, Synchronise Disaster and Social Welfare Recipient Data
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that the chamber would begin collecting public input to discuss a Draft Single Data Law (RUU Satu Data).
“And next, the Single Data Law will be discussed promptly,” said Dasco at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
Dasco explained that the draft law aims to synchronise data across government to create a centralised system.
The formulation of the Single Data Law is based on lessons from disaster situations. Currently, there remain discrepancies in data between ministries and agencies.
Beyond disaster data, Dasco stated that the Single Data Law also encompasses data for social assistance (bansos).
It is hoped that through the Single Data Law, there will be no further issues of data discrepancies between ministries and agencies.
“Furthermore, regarding social assistance funds and BPJS, we still see synchronisation problems, so we will consolidate this into Single Data so that in future there is no more data confusion that creates problems in the field,” he explained.
