DPR Timwas uncovers tent allotment practices ahead of Wukuf at Arafat: the state must act decisively
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Deputy Chair of the DPR Commission VIII from the PDI-P faction and a member of the DPR Hajj Supervisory Team (Timwas) 2026, Abidin Fikri, strongly condemned the practice of tent allotment detected among several Hajj/Umrah Guidance Groups (KBIH/KBIHU).
Abidin emphasised that such actions not only breach the ethics of Hajj service provision but also jeopardise the rights and safety of the pilgrims.
Abidin also urged the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to take concrete steps promptly, including revoking the operating licences of KBIH/KBIHU proven to be involved in tent allotment and even prosecuting extortion.
‘If any party leverages its position to seek personal or group gain, the state must act firmly,’ he added.
Moreover, he will ensure an integrated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) between the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, PPIH, syarikah, and Saudi authorities.
