Jakarta (ANTARA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) RI Puan Maharani advised that the aspirations of prospective Indonesian hajj pilgrims must not be impeded by technical matters, such as the issuance of visas for hajj officials or the distribution of Nusuk cards.

“Do not let the desires or aspirations of all hajj pilgrims be delayed merely due to technical issues,” Puan stated when met at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday.

Puan requested that hajj-related stakeholders, particularly the government, work to the best of their abilities to avoid any disadvantages to prospective hajj pilgrims departing for the holy land this year.

“The DPR RI is certainly ready to facilitate, evaluate, and collaborate so that hajj pilgrims are not stranded, delayed, or unable to depart,” she added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Moch. Irfan Yusuf assured that preparations for hajj services are nearly complete ahead of the departure of the first batch of pilgrims, scheduled for 22 April 2026.

“Hajj service readiness is almost 100 percent complete. The current stage is the final checking of all services ahead of hajj operations,” Irfan said during a press conference at the Presidential Staff Office in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4).

According to him, 177 hotels along with 51 kitchens in Makkah and 100 hotels and 23 kitchens in Madinah have been prepared for pilgrim accommodation. Adequate health services have also been prepared and supervised.

In addition, he confirmed that all Nusuk cards have arrived in Indonesia and are expected to be distributed and activated by prospective hajj pilgrims at embarkation points in Indonesia.
