DPR Seeks Explanation from Bank Mandiri over Blocked Accounts of Pati Activists
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal said the DPR will seek an explanation from Bank Mandiri regarding the blocking of accounts belonging to a group of activists from Pati. Cucun made the statement after receiving an audience with the Pati People’s Communication Forum at the DPR on Monday (24/8/2026).
“We will confirm with the bank later, why it carried out the blocking. It could be that there are indications, such as transfer traffic that is dangerous or what the source is like. We will ask Bank Mandiri later,” said Cucun.
He said Bank Mandiri is one of the banks included in the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara). Cucun has not yet concluded the reason for the account blocking. The DPR, he said, will ask for a direct explanation from the banking side regarding the basis for the blocking.
“That is from one of the banks in Himbara as well,” he said in closing.
