Bayu Prasetyo, Secretary of the DPR RI’s Expert Body, said the Ramadan Fast 1447 AH activities provide a momentum for staff to strengthen faith while reinforcing camaraderie in the workplace.

He made the remarks while opening the Ramadan Fast 1447 AH series of activities under the theme Fastabiqul Khairat: ‘Berlomba-lombalah kamu dalam kebaikan’ (Quran 2:148) – Momentum to Achieve Goodness in the Present and Future, at Gedung Nusantara, the DPR RI Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, 6 March 2026.

In his speech, Bayu urged all staff to be grateful for the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT and to make gratitude the basis of daily activities. ‘We thank Allah SWT for all innumerable blessings. Therefore, we should give thanks from the heart. Insha’Allah, with gratitude life will be more prosperous and blessed,’ he said.

He also invited all attendees to emulate Prophet Muhammad SAW and expressed hope to obtain his intercession in the hereafter. According to Bayu, the Ramadan Fast is an effort to make Ramadan a moment to strengthen faith and piety and to foster a spirit of togetherness within the DPR RI Expert Body.

‘The tagline Fastabiqul Khairat is chosen as a reminder that the holy month of Ramadan should be a momentum to increase faith, strengthen personal competence, and spread goodness,’ he said.

Bayu stressed that the DPR RI Expert Body plays a strategic role in supporting the DPR’s functions, particularly in legislation, budgeting, and oversight. He noted that busy and dynamic work activity must be balanced with spiritual strengthening.

‘The Ramadan Fast activities are presented as a space for reflection so that intensive professional work can be balanced with spiritual values,’ he said.

This year’s Ramadan Fast includes several activities, among them a creative dakwah video competition among centres within the DPR RI Expert Body, uploaded to social media. ‘I see a lot of latent talent within the Expert Body. Many are creative and capable of conveying the message of Ramadan’s goodness in an engaging way,’ Bayu said.

In addition to the creative dakwah video competition, the programme also features Ramadan talk shows aimed at providing motivation and strengthening the spirit of work and worship. On 13 March 2026, there will also be charitable donations and breaking fast with orphans as a form of social care.

Bayu hopes the series of activities will not only be a personal act of worship but also strengthen ties and solidarity within the DPR RI Expert Body.

‘Hopefully these activities will bring us closer to Allah on a personal level, but also strengthen our ties and foster a positive spirit in carrying out our duties and service,’ he said.

He also expressed appreciation to everyone supporting the Ramadan Fast, including the organisers who prepared the activities.

Bayu reminded that a great institution is built not only by a good system but also by people who possess integrity and a spirit of togetherness. ‘I believe that by strengthening silaturahmi, solidarity, and integrity, we can bring more goodness for the present and the future,’ he said. (*)
