DPR RI Member Sarmuji Honoured as Responsive Legislator at KWP Award 2026

The KWP Award 2026, themed “Guiding the Struggle, Appreciating Dedication: Together Realising Golden Indonesia,” was held again as a form of recognition for the tangible performance of people’s representatives and parliamentary partners. This biennial event, initiated by the Parliamentary Journalists’ Coordinating Body (KWP), aims to acknowledge legislators, senators, and work partners who contribute through legislative and oversight functions. This year, more than 60 figures were included in the list of award recipients. The awards tradition has been consistent since the 2021 KWP Awards under the leadership of Marlen Erikson Sitompul to the 2023 KWP Awards led by Ariawan with Samrut Lellosima. The implementation of the KWP Award 2026 was also supported by various state and private companies such as Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, GoTo, Hutama Karya, PLN, Taspen, and Inalum, which reinforces the importance of collaboration in national development. In the event, DPR RI member Muhammad Sarmuji received the award as the legislator responsive to public aspirations. Sarmuji expressed appreciation for the award given by KWP and views it as recognition of the political work that has been carried out. “First, thank you to KWP. I was given the award as a legislator responsive to public aspirations,” he said. He emphasised that the award also serves as personal recognition of his role in responding to community needs. “Personally, I was given the award as a political figure responsive to public aspirations,” he stated. According to him, this award is relevant to the efforts that have been made in parliament to absorb and advocate for the people’s aspirations. “The award is relevant and of course I feel honoured by the recognition from KWP because this award reflects the work that has been done in Parliament,” he explained. The KWP Award 2026 is not just a ceremonial event but also a symbol of oversight and appreciation from parliamentary journalists for the performance of people’s representatives. Through this award, it is hoped that legislators will be further encouraged to continue delivering policies that favour society and support the realisation of Golden Indonesia.
