A number of members of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V conducted an inspection of the Integrated People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat) 1 in Rowosari, Tembalang District, Semarang, Central Java, on Friday (17/7/2026). They highlighted several facilities deemed inadequate, one of which was the lack of CCTV.

During the visit, the delegation, led by Commission V Deputy Chairman Ridwan Bae, reviewed the school’s master plan and toured the classrooms, dormitories, and multipurpose hall. Following the inspection, Novita Wijayanti, a fellow Commission V member, stressed the urgent need for security cameras.

“I observed several things, including the CCTV. We hope this can be addressed because this is a boarding school with both female and male students,” Novita said. She emphasised that the children enrolled in the People’s School are there to receive an education, and it is crucial to prevent any undesirable incidents. She urged the school principal to ensure that teachers continuously supervise the students.
