Jakarta - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) officially ratified the Bill on the Amendment of Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) on Thursday, 4 June 2026. The revision is intended to strengthen governance within the financial sector to support national economic growth. Mohamad Hekal, Deputy Chairman of DPR Commission XI and Chairman of the Working Committee for the P2SK Amendment Bill, stated that the revision represents the implementation of Constitutional Court (MK) decisions related to investigations into criminal offences in the financial sector and the independence of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). Several policies within the P2SK Law that have drawn attention include the reinforcement of financial authorities, namely Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the LPS; the strengthening of a Strategic Minerals Exchange; the enhancement of the Indonesia Investment Authority (Danantara); capital market reform; the advancement of the digital economy; and the push for global financial ambitions through the Indonesian International Financial Centre.
