DPR: Police a pillar of law and order throughout nation's journey

Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sari Yuliati stated that the Indonesian National Police has been a pillar of law and order throughout the nation’s journey. In the momentum of the 80th Bhayangkara Day, Sari expressed appreciation to the police force for eight decades of service and dedication. “Eight decades is not a short time. Throughout this nation’s journey, the police have been a sturdy pillar upholding law and order,” she said in a written statement on Wednesday. According to her, the police, from the headquarters level down to the Community Security and Order Supervisors in remote villages, have played a crucial role in maintaining public security and order. The House of Representatives hopes the police institution will continue to improve, become more professional, and be loved by the community. The police are also expected to consistently carry out their constitutional mandate. “The police must always protect and embrace all levels of society without discrimination, maintain public security and order to create a conducive national climate, and enforce the law fairly, transparently, and humanely,” she said. She conveyed that the Bhayangkara Day momentum serves as a moment of reflection to strengthen the police institution so that it remains clean, has integrity, and is capable of providing a sense of security and justice for all Indonesian people. “Happy 80th Bhayangkara Day. Long live the Indonesian National Police,” Sari said.
