DPR Plenary Approves Evaluation of the Second Change to the Prolegnas Priority for 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The 15th Plenary Session of the DPR RI during Session V of the 2025-2026 parliamentary year approved the evaluation of the Second Change to the National Legislation Programme (Prolegnas) Priority for 2026, carried out by the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI. This approval came after Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa asked all MPs from representatives of all political party factions present at the Plenary meeting. “The approval of this plenary session will be followed up in accordance with the applicable mechanism,” Saan said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Baleg DPR RI, Bob Hasan, stated that the evaluation of the Prolegnas Priority Change for 2026 was the result of a working meeting conducted by Baleg together with the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia and the DPD RI Drafting Committee on 15 April 2026. He said that the working meeting had approved the number of Draft Bills (RUU) entering the Prolegnas Priority for 2026 to be 68. Meanwhile, the RUU entering the Prolegnas Long-Term 2025-2029 stood at 198. He explained several outcomes of the Prolegnas evaluation, including the Housing and Settlement Areas (Omnibus Law) bill, which was originally government-initiated but became a DPR-initiated bill within the third change to the 2025-2029 RUU Prolegnas. He then said that Baleg DPR RI also included four Bills as DPR-initiated in the second Change to the Prolegnas RUU Priority for 2026, namely the Broadcasting Bill, the Curator Profession Bill, the Bill on amendments to Law Number 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, and the Housing and Settlement Areas Bill. In addition, Baleg DPR RI also changed the title of the Bill on Asset Auctions initiated by DPR to a Bill on Auctions, and the Bill on Customary Law Communities to a Bill on Indigenous Peoples. Then the Bills on Civil Procedure Law and on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, which were originally government-initiated, became DPR-initiated. “The evaluation of Prolegnas RUU Priority for 2026 does not discuss or list an open cumulative list,” said Bob.
