DPR Plenary Approves 7 Central Information Commission Members for 2026-2030
The 22nd DPR Plenary Meeting of the 2025-2026 Session V officially approved seven candidates for the Central Information Commission (KIP) for the 2026-2030 period on Tuesday (30/6). The number was selected based on the results of a fit and proper test conducted by Commission I of the DPR on 24-25 June. In addition to the seven members, Commission I also designated three individuals as interim replacement candidates.
“Allow us to ask this honourable council regarding the report of Commission I of the DPR RI on the results of the fit and proper test deliberations, which decided on 7 KIP member candidates for the 2026-2030 period and 3 interim replacement candidates for the 2026-2030 KIP with the names that have been submitted, can this be approved?” said DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, who was presiding over the meeting, to which all meeting participants gave their approval.
Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Dave Laksono, explained that the seven KIP member candidates for the 2026-2030 period were selected from a total of 21 names submitted by the President via letter number R-22/Pres/05/2026 dated 12 May 2026. Subsequently, two names withdrew from the process, reducing the number of candidates undergoing the fit and proper test to 19.
“Of the 21 candidates submitted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, two candidates declared their withdrawal, namely Mr Arya Sandiyudha and Ms Sari Wardani, so the number of candidates who participated in the fit and proper test was 19,” Dave stated.
Based on an internal meeting of Commission I on 25 June, following two days of fit and proper tests, the commission decided on seven new KIP member candidates for 2026-2030 and three interim replacement candidates. “In that internal meeting, Commission I of the DPR RI decided on the KIP member candidates based on deliberation to reach a consensus,” Dave said.

The names of the elected members approved by the DPR will be ratified by the President through a Presidential Decree and officially inaugurated for a five-year term.
