Jakarta (ANTARA) - DPR Commission VI member Firnando Ganinduto supports PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia’s operations from 1 June 2026 to strengthen natural resource export governance, enhance trade transparency, and optimise national revenue from strategic commodities.

Firnando stated the policy forms part of national export management reform, mandating natural resource export reports to PT DSI, integrated with the General Directorate of Customs and Excise system.

“The policy aims to enhance trade transparency, strengthen export flow monitoring, optimise foreign exchange management, and minimise practices that could harm the country such as under-invoicing, transfer pricing, and foreign exchange leaks,” Firnando said in a statement on Monday in Jakarta.

He noted the initial phase covers three strategic commodities — coal, crude palm oil (CPO), and ferroalloy — which recorded export values of approximately $66.13 billion, accounting for 23.4% of total national exports in 2025.

Firnando assessed that the significant economic potential of these commodities must be managed more cohesively to optimise value addition for the nation and strengthen economic sovereignty.

“PT DSI’s implementation must streamline business processes without creating new bureaucratic layers that could hinder export operations or impose administrative burdens on businesses,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of synergy between the General Directorate of Customs and Excise, law enforcement agencies, local governments, banks, and PT DSI in building a distribution and national export monitoring system.

According to Firnando, the policy’s success hinges on effective field monitoring to eliminate room for illegal exports or activities outside government-established mechanisms.

Furthermore, consistent and firm enforcement of violations is necessary to ensure legal certainty and foster a healthy, fair business environment.

As part of the DPR’s oversight function, Commission VI will monitor PT DSI’s performance to ensure it effectively, professionally, and accountably fulfils the government’s mandate.

“PT DSI’s success must be measured by increased state revenue, strengthened foreign exchange reserves, and a more transparent export system that delivers tangible benefits to the national economy in a relatively short timeframe,” Firnando said.
