DPR Member Urges Transparent Investigation into Sutrimo's Death
A member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III’s Working Committee, Teuku Ibrahim, has urged a thorough investigation into the death of a man named Sutrimo in front of the Mordent beauty clinic in South Jakarta. Ibrahim called for the case to be handled swiftly and transparently. “Polda Metro Jaya must take immediate steps and investigate this case thoroughly! Do not let the handling drag on without direction. If the investigation results prove there is no criminal act, announce it officially and accountably. However, if there are indications of a crime, hunt down and take firm action against the perpetrators without discrimination!” Ibrahim said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ibrahim stressed that this sensitive case must be handled quickly. He warned that delays could erode public trust and give rise to various speculations. “Any neglect without legal certainty only provides space for misleading rumours. The investigation must be carried out comprehensively, based on scientific evidence, and the results must be disclosed clearly to the public,” he continued. He also urged investigators to work professionally and not be influenced by pressure from any party. According to him, the public has the right to legal certainty regarding this case. “We must respect the ongoing legal procedures, but law enforcement officials must understand that the public is demanding certainty. The law must not be left in limbo—justice must be upheld as quickly as possible for the victim’s family and the community,” concluded Teuku Ibrahim.
Previously, law enforcement officials were still investigating the cause of death of Sutrimo in front of the Mordent beauty clinic in South Jakarta. The cause of death remains unknown. Police have conducted a follow-up crime scene investigation at the location on Jalan Kramat Pela. The General Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, together with the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, is investigating the case to determine the sequence of events and uncover the cause of death. Based on circulating information, the victim was found with foam coming from his mouth. The victim is reportedly the former household manager of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah. The police are still investigating the victim’s identity.
