Jakarta, Kompas.com - Herman Khaeron, a member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has emphasised the importance of careful coordination in implementing President Prabowo Subianto’s idea to form or appoint a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) in the export sector. He said the government needs to align this policy with existing exporting companies and with destination countries, and to determine the scope of a one-door policy and the limits of authority. He added that clear boundaries require intensive coordination with all stakeholders. Herman said he understands the president’s idea is essentially noble, aimed at enhancing efficiency and optimising national revenue. He hopes PT DSDI, as the entity tasked with the mandate, can implement it well, particularly in harmonising the various regulations related to the one-door export policy. The President of the Republic of Indonesia, whom I lead, today announced the Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Exports of Economic Resource Commodities, during the presentation of the Macro Economy Framework and the Policy Mix (KEM-PPKF) 2027 at the DPR RI plenary session on Wednesday 20 May 2026. Prabowo explained that issuing this rule is a strategic step to strengthen the governance of exports of Indonesia’s natural resource commodities. The policy will begin with several key commodities, such as oil, palm oil, coal, and alloy products of iron and minerals. The first phase will run from 1 June to 31 August 2026. During this phase, exporting companies will begin the transition of export-import trade transactions to the state-owned enterprises. The state-owned enterprises will also begin handling transactions and contracts with all foreign buyers. The second phase starts on 1 September 2026. Implementation will be carried out in full.
