Ahmad Sahroni, Vice Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, has announced plans to donate his salary as a parliamentary member to the Kitabisa charitable foundation.

He stated that he will not accept his salary until the end of his term in 2029, and will transfer it entirely to people in need.

He made this statement after returning to active duty as a DPR member and Commission III leader, following a six-month suspension stemming from the August 2025 demonstrations.

“The impact of it is that I want to transfer my salary as a DPR member to the Kitabisa foundation so it can be used properly to help those who need it,” Sahroni said at the parliamentary complex on Tuesday (10 March).

The NasDem party politician stated that he is taking this step to dispel perceptions that he has been receiving taxpayer-funded salary. However, Sahroni said he does not actually know the exact amount of his DPR salary.

“Because people thought I was taking public money, receiving money from taxes, right. Well, we never really know what the salary is,” said Sahroni.

By not accepting his DPR salary, Sahroni wants the money to be used by those who need it more. He chose the Kitabisa Foundation to ensure public accountability.

“That explains that there’s no other intention but I personally want it this way, because I’m also a businessman,” he said.

Sahroni said he would soon communicate his intention to the DPR Secretariat. Subsequently, his monthly salary would be automatically debited to the Kitabisa account.

“So the Secretariat will send it to my personal account, then I’ll ask them to set up automatic debits directly to the Kitabisa account,” he said.
