DPR Member Requests CPNS Recruitment to Prioritise Education Personnel

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Abdul Fikri Faqih, a member of Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), has requested that upcoming government recruitment for Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) prioritises the needs of the education sector.

Speaking in Jakarta on Monday, Fikri noted that various priority school programmes introduced by President Prabowo Subianto’s administration—such as Sekolah Rakyat, Sekolah Unggulan Garuda, and Sekolah Nasional Terintegrasi (SNT)—require adequate facilities and educational human resources, particularly library staff.

“It would be a blessing if, out of those 500,000 recruits, the civil servants appointed are librarians, so that our libraries become high-quality and representative for these priority schools,” he stated.

Furthermore, he reminded full-time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) to prepare for the CPNS formation competition scheduled for early 2027. He noted plans to transition more than 230,000 part-time PPPK into full-time roles. Additionally, approximately 900,000 full-time PPPK will undergo a selection process in early 2027 to become civil servants, with around 500,000 positions being prepared.
