DPR Member: PT Pos Indonesia Has an Advantage in Facilities and Infrastructure

Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Doni Akbar, stated that PT Pos Indonesia must rapidly undertake digital transformation and service integration. To remain relevant, the company must aggressively strengthen its logistics and marketplace segments. The optimisation of the utilisation of the still-fragmented national network and assets must be unified into a single efficient managerial channel. “The future success of PT Pos Indonesia heavily depends on its strategy and governance capability in converting its massive physical network into a digital logistics ecosystem capable of competing head-to-head with increasingly diverse private businesses. PT Pos Indonesia has an advantage in facilities and infrastructure that is almost unmatched by other private enterprises,” said Doni at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, as quoted on Thursday, 25 June 2026. Therefore, Doni said, PT Pos Indonesia must not rely solely on its long history or inherent advantages in facilities and infrastructure. A major leap in governance is required so that the proclaimed digital transformation does not become mere jargon and plans. The roadmap must be implementable so that it can genuinely reduce national logistics costs in real terms and compete with private logistics businesses. “The effectiveness of PT Pos Indonesia can be measured by two main indicators: how quickly it can consolidate its services for the public, and how resiliently it stands as an independent corporation in a market that shows no mercy to state-owned enterprises that are slow to transform,” he said. Consequently, Doni said, PT Pos Indonesia must affirm its focus on the logistics core business as the main growth engine for the company, alongside strengthening operational capacity, integrating digital technology, modernising infrastructure, and improving service quality. PT Pos Indonesia is considered to need to enhance strategic partnerships with the private sector and synergy among state-owned enterprises. Synergy with other state-owned enterprises and the government can be the key to not being crushed by the capital efficiency and transformation of the private sector. “With a service network that reaches all regions of Indonesia, PT Pos Indonesia is one of the nation’s strategic assets in ensuring the presence of public services to the remotest areas, especially in the administration of national postal services and logistics distribution,” he added.
