DPR Member Fully Supports Financing for MSMEs and Creative Economy
Gandung Pardiman, a member of House Commission VII and of the working committee on financing and capital for MSMEs and the creative economy, has expressed full support for the establishment of the Working Committee on Access to Financing and Capital for MSMEs and the Creative Economy.
According to Gandung, MSMEs and creative economy players are the backbone of the national economy, yet many still face obstacles in accessing capital from banks and financing institutions.
He said the formation of the committee must be properly overseen as a form of support for business actors who underpin national economic growth.
“MSMEs and the creative economy absorb the most labour, around 98 percent, but their obstacle when they need to develop their businesses is that they often hit a wall in obtaining financing or capital assistance. Hopefully the presence of this working committee will become a concrete solution with financing schemes that are easy, low-interest, and not complicated,” Gandung stressed in a written statement on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
Gandung is of the view that the working committee should expand access to financing, encourage banks, state-owned enterprises, and financial institutions to create special products for MSMEs and the creative economy with light collateral requirements and fast processes, and strengthen the creative economy ecosystem. The government needs to provide revolving funds, productive grants, and market curation so that MSME and creative economy products can move up a class and even reach exports.
Gandung considers financial literacy education to be one of the main focuses. He emphasised the importance of mentoring so that MSME players understand how to manage finances, keep books, and meet credit requirements, something that is often underestimated by MSME and creative economy entrepreneurs.
Financial literacy awareness is considered something that must be cultivated and is a necessity in supporting MSME and creative economy players so that they can obtain access to financing and capital that favours them.
“If access to capital runs smoothly, MSMEs will grow, jobs will be created, and regional economies will move. This is a long-term investment for national economic resilience,” he said.
Gandung hopes that the Working Committee on Access to Financing and Capital for MSMEs and the Creative Economy in Commission VII can soon produce recommendations and regulations that favour small and medium enterprises.
