Police arrested four fake KPK employees suspected of extorting a DPR member of Rp 300 million. The DPR member allegedly extorted is Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR.

“True (the victim is Ahmad Sahroni),” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, when asked for confirmation whether the victim is indeed Ahmad Sahroni, on Friday (10/4/2026).

Sahroni reported to Metro Jaya Police on Thursday (9/4) night after claiming to have been extorted. Police coordinated with the KPK and succeeded in arresting the perpetrators.

“Yes, this is still being investigated in depth. We convey that we have received one police report and this will still be investigated whether it is related to the report or the alleged unity earlier,” he said.

Sahroni also confirmed that he reported the alleged extortion. “Absolutely true,” said Sahroni when asked for confirmation.

Modus Operandi for Handling Cases

Police revealed the modus operandi of the four fake KPK employees suspected of extorting Ahmad Sahroni, a leader of Commission III of the DPR RI. Police revealed that the perpetrators extorted the victim under the pretext of handling a case.

“The report concerns threats and extortion allegedly by people claiming to be from one of the public institutions related to handling cases,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Friday (10/4).

Budi said the victim was asked for Rp 300 million. The victim claimed to have received threats, but Budi did not detail the form of the threats.

“The handover of the money requested from the victim amounted to Rp 300 million, so it was reported by the respective victim to Metro Jaya Police,” he said.

Budi stated that the perpetrators are suspected of tarnishing the name of the KPK leadership. Currently, they are coordinating with the KPK and continuing a series of in-depth investigations.
