DPR Member Extorted, Fake KPK Officer Arrested by Metro Police
A joint team from the Metro Jaya Police’s Subdit Jatanras and KPK investigators arrested a woman suspected of fraud by impersonating a KPK employee. “The woman is suspected of defrauding the Deputy Chair of DPR RI Commission III with initials AS in the Commission III room at the DPR building,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement on Saturday. He said the case came to light after the victim reported it to Metro Jaya Police on 9 April 2026. The report concerned alleged fraud committed by the perpetrator using the name of a law enforcement agency. “In uncovering this case, we arrested TH alias D (48). From the suspect, officers seized a KPK stamp, eight sheets of KPK-headed summons letters, two mobile phones, and four different identity cards,” Budi said. The incident began on Monday, 6 April 2026, when the victim was in the Commission III room at the DPR building. Subsequently, the victim handed over the money requested by the suspect on 9 April 2026. However, it was later discovered that the woman was not a KPK employee, so the victim then filed a report at the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit. “The suspect approached the victim in the DPR RI Commission III room and claimed to be a KPK employee on orders from KPK leadership. The suspect then asked for Rp300 million from the victim,” Budi explained.
