DPR Member Distributes 1,000 Rice Packages to Poor Residents in Kendari
Kendari (ANTARA) - Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) member Jaelani has distributed 1,000 rice packages as food aid to poor communities in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Jaelani, when met in Kendari on Wednesday, said the food aid distribution aimed to help ease the burden and meet the economic needs of the local community. “This assistance may not be much, but we hope it can slightly lighten the burden on family kitchens, especially in meeting daily basic needs,” Jaelani said. He explained that the rice aid was distributed at several points, with the main targets being low-income residents, daily wage workers, and the elderly. “This is my moral obligation as a people’s representative to continue caring and sharing for the welfare of the community,” he stated. Jaelani affirmed that similar social action programmes would continue. He committed to overseeing policies that favour the welfare of the Southeast Sulawesi community at the central level, while regularly going into the field to absorb aspirations directly.
