DPR Member Appreciates Siak's SMEs for Transforming Pineapples into Modern Products

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the House of Representatives Commission VII, Hendry Munief, has appreciated the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) in Siak, Riau, named Pinaloka, which utilises pineapples to create higher-value products. He also commended Pinaloka’s efforts in building an economic chain from upstream to downstream, as the pineapple raw materials used are supplied directly from local farmers in Siak, thereby empowering the local agricultural sector. “This is a very good example. Raw materials from local farmers are processed into high-value products,” he stated in a comment in Jakarta on Monday. He further emphasised the importance of supporting MSMEs to enable their growth, including through collaborations with various parties and the utilisation of digital platforms. “We just need to encourage them in terms of branding, packaging, and marketing to penetrate wider markets. Moreover, Pinaloka has already utilised social media as a medium for promotion and product branding,” he said. Meanwhile, representatives from Pinaloka stated that their business focuses on processing pineapples into various ready-to-consume products while maintaining quality. “We want to elevate the potential of Siak pineapples to add value. In addition, we are also endeavouring to help local farmers by sustainably absorbing their harvests,” said one of Pinaloka’s representatives. The MSME stated that it will continue to innovate in product packaging and marketing to compete in the modern market.
