DPR Member: 2027 State Budget Bill is President's Effort to Drive Transformation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Kamrussamad stated that the 2027 Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) represents President Prabowo Subianto’s effort to drive transformation.
“I see he is serious about carrying out transformation with a leap in three aspects. First, state revenue. Second, state expenditure, where he has repeatedly emphasised fiscal discipline. Third, state financing,” Kamrussamad said in Jakarta on Friday.
According to him, the President is committed to ensuring that every single rupiah of state revenue is returned in the form of programmes for the public.
“It is clear that he is committed to maintaining fiscal discipline and quality spending, and ensuring that every single rupiah of state revenue is returned in the form of programmes for the people,” he said.
Regarding capital market reform, he said this is a form of government encouragement towards the creation of a globally-scaled capital market.
“Interestingly, for the first time in his budget speech, he revealed capital market reform. I see this as a form of government encouragement and commitment to creating a globally-scaled capital market. So, the demutualisation programme mandated in the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (UU P2SK) can be implemented through Danantara,” he said.
President Prabowo Subianto stated that the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) is focused on eight national priority work programmes (PKPN).
The eight programmes include food sovereignty, energy and water self-sufficiency, education, health, downstreaming and industrialisation, infrastructure, housing and disaster resilience, strengthening the people’s economy and village development, and poverty reduction.
“These eight priorities are supported by strengthening defence and security, law enforcement, governance, accelerating digitalisation, and economic diplomacy,” the President said in his speech delivering the Government’s Introduction/Statement on the Bill on the 2027 Fiscal Year State Budget and its Financial Note.
The President emphasised that achievements in the first half of 2026 serve as the foundation for drafting the 2027 State Budget.
He added that the architecture of the 2027 State Budget is designed to remain expansive in a collaborative, targeted, and measured manner to drive higher economic growth and accelerate prosperity.
He added that economic transformation towards high-value-added economic activities must continue to be strengthened. In this regard, flagship programmes must run effectively.
“Social protection programmes must be reliable. Empowerment for MSMEs must continue to be encouraged. Support for farmers, fishermen, teachers, and vulnerable workers must also be strengthened,” the President said.
The President added that the harmonisation of central and regional policies must be improved and made more robust. In addition, the eradication of corruption and law enforcement must continue to be upheld without exception.
