Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) M Qodari opened up about the challenges facing the KSP in the Prabowo Subianto administration. He stated that the issues in the government revolve around technocracy.

Qodari conveyed this during a meeting with Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026). He mentioned that technocracy issues pose a challenge.

“Indeed, the challenge in Pak Prabowo’s government right now, if we talk about products, is the technocracy challenge,” Qodari said during the meeting.

Qodari explained that there are obstacles in anticipating problems from the outset to planning. He also mentioned challenges when future issues arise in the field.

“How to anticipate problems from the beginning, then make good planning and solve the technical problems faced in the field. So the challenge is technocracy,” he stated.

In that meeting, Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII DPR Andreas Hugo Pareira responded to the challenges raised by Qodari. He said that technocracy issues should be directly conveyed to Prabowo.

“Regarding what the head mentioned earlier about technocracy, actually from the start, I think the head should just talk to the President if our problem is technocracy,” Andreas remarked.

Andreas encouraged the government to involve experts capable of assisting in the implementation of Prabowo’s programmes. He asked the government not to recruit people without specific capabilities for certain roles.

“Find technocrats who are capable of implementing those programmes, the president’s policy programmes. Don’t place people who lack technocratic capabilities in policies and programmes that require high technocratic skills,” he said.

Andreas then brought up problems occurring in his electoral district in Flores, NTT. He said the issue relates to geothermal energy.

“Many people talk about geothermal without understanding it. So in the end, they just reject it, there’s just unproductive pro-contra,” he stated.

“Meanwhile, in my view, this should be an important policy. Because it’s not technocrats speaking there, so I think things like this, the KSP as the president’s eyes and ears, can serve as a bridge to overcome bottlenecks as mentioned earlier,” he continued.
