House of Representatives (DPR) member Moreno Soeprapto has affirmed that the government is not anti-criticism regarding the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme raised by the public. Moreno explained that the government is continuously accommodating and responding to all criticism by improving the institutional governance of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the programme’s implementation on the ground. “The government is conducting evaluations, which is good, and there has already been action taken as proof. The government is not anti-criticism from the public,” Moreno said, as reported by ANTARA on Saturday, 20 June 2026. He stated that criticism is natural, but its delivery must not descend into spreading hatred that could impact national unity. The public is invited to assist the DPR and the government in jointly overseeing the continuity of this strategic programme so that its implementation improves going forward. “We want to achieve a Golden Indonesia, therefore we need to prepare the next generation. If they are already taught to revile and become accustomed to hatred, that is certainly not good,” Moreno expressed. Furthermore, Moreno said that overall, the MBG programme has a good concept. Besides meeting children’s nutritional intake needs, the programme also has an impact on the community’s economic turnover. He shared that from his several visits to Malang City, Batu City, and Malang Regency, both livestock breeders and farmers gave positive feedback on the MBG programme. “They are getting market demand from it, so their income can increase,” he said.
