DPR Legislative Body Approves One Data Bill to be Brought to Plenary Session Tomorrow
The Legislative Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives (DPR) has approved the Indonesia One Data Bill to be brought to the Plenary Session for ratification into law on Tuesday (6/10).
Baleg DPR held a plenary meeting to seek approval from the eight parliamentary factions and the government to expedite the ratification of the Bill in the plenary session. The result showed that all eight factions agreed to the immediate passage of the One Data Bill.
“Next, we are requesting the meeting’s approval as to whether the results of the discussions regarding the Indonesia One Data Bill can be processed further in accordance with the legislation?” said Bob at the parliamentary complex on Monday (5/10).
“The second-level discussion for decision-making is scheduled to take place during the plenary session on Tuesday (6/10) at 10:00 WIB,” Bob added.
The Indonesia One Data Bill (SDI) is a bill previously approved as a DPR initiative. During discussions with the government, a total of 1,338 items in the list of problems (DIM) for the main body and 829 items for the explanatory notes were addressed.
Through the discussion of these items, the SDI Bill was agreed to consist of 20 chapters and 141 articles, regulating 15 key substantive points.
The Deputy Chairman of Baleg DPR, Sturman Panjaitan, explained that the SDI Bill includes regulations regarding National Basic Data (DDN). According to him, the DDN will be fully managed by the state to serve as a reference for development planning.
Furthermore, the SDI Bill regulates the governance of SDI through the SDI master plan, SDI architecture, SDI management, and the SDI lifecycle. The bill also addresses data security and protection through established data security standards.
The data security system will be managed by agencies in the field of cyber security and cryptography, cryptographic infrastructure, and digital certificate management systems.
“The formation of the organisers will take a maximum of one year, alongside the adjustment of SDI systems and infrastructure based on the regulations of Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Data Indonesia,” said Sturman.
