DPR Legislation Body Agrees on Revision of 2026 Prolegnas, Adding 5 New Bills
The Legislation Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has agreed to revise the 2026 Priority National Legislation Programme (Prolegnas) by adding five new draft laws (RUU). Chairman of Baleg DPR RI, Bob Hasan, stated that the addition resulted from discussions between the DPR, the government, and the Regional Representative Council (DPD).
“Based on our discussions, both from government ministries and the DPD RI’s working unit, the Baleg leadership yesterday proposed adding one RUU on housing and settlement areas,” said Bob Hasan during the Prolegnas Priority 2026 evaluation working meeting at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Wednesday (15/4/2026).
This Gerindra politician explained that the RUU on Housing and Settlement Areas, previously a government initiative proposal, has now been transferred to a DPR initiative proposal. Additionally, the RUU is now included in the priority prolegnas list.
Bob stated that with this addition, there are four new RUUs in the 2026 priority prolegnas as DPR initiative proposals.
“Namely the RUU on Broadcasting, RUU on the Curator Profession, RUU on amendments to Law Number 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, and of course the last one, the RUU on Housing and Settlement Areas,” he said.
Additionally, Baleg DPR also agreed to include one RUU as a government initiative proposal, namely the RUU on Auctions. Bob mentioned a nomenclature change from previously “Auctions of Assets” to simply “Auctions”.
“Without assets, just Auctions. So what was previously with assets becomes just auctions,” said Bob Hasan.
Furthermore, in the meeting, several other changes to the 2026 Priority Prolegnas list were agreed upon. Among them, the name change of the RUU on Customary Law Communities to the RUU on Indigenous Peoples.
Then, the RUU on Narcotics and Psychotropics, which was originally a government initiative proposal, is now changed to a DPR initiative proposal in the second amendment to the 2026 Priority Prolegnas.
“That’s what we’ve agreed on together, which we will of course read out in the upcoming plenary session,” Bob Hasan concluded.
