Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, alongside fellow Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, led a cross-ministerial coordination meeting at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Thursday to strengthen the absorption of aspirations ahead of the finalisation of a Presidential Regulation on the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) ecosystem.

Dasco stated that the DPR RI has also received input from the National Ojol Coalition regarding the push for the implementation of an income split of 92 per cent for drivers and 8 per cent for applicators, including an evaluation of the tariff scheme’s implementation in the field. “We have agreed that the team will meet once more for finalisation,” Dasco said after the meeting.

According to him, the meeting was a step towards aligning policies between ministries so that the regulation being drafted can provide legal certainty, strengthen protections for driver partners, and ensure the sustainability of the app-based transport ecosystem. The discussion focused on several strategic issues, ranging from strengthening protections for driver partners and ensuring certainty in the partnership relationship between app companies and drivers, to business climate sustainability and cross-ministerial coordination in policy implementation.

Although the revenue split scheme has been in effect since 1 July 2026, the National Ojol Coalition noted that some app companies still need to improve their discipline in implementing the provisions. They hope this field evaluation will be included as a note in the regulatory refinement process.

During the meeting, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi explained that his ministry remains focused on regulating app-based transport service tariffs, including the revenue-sharing mechanism between drivers and app companies. These technical provisions have been followed up through a Minister of Transportation Decree.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, COO of Danantara and Head of the SOE Regulatory Body Dony Oskaria, Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej, Deputy Minister of State Secretary Bambang Eko Suhariyanto, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria.
