The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) received an audience with student protesters who had staged a demonstration in front of the DPR building today. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and took place in the Abdul Muis Room at the DPR complex in Jakarta on Friday (19/6/2026).

Also present were Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa, Chairman of Commission III Habiburokhman, Deputy Chairman of Commission III Rano Alfath, and Chairman of the Honorary Council (MKD) Nazaruddin Dek Gam. The student representatives attending the audience included members of the Islamic Students Association (HMI), as well as students from Mercubuana University and Trisakti University.

Earlier, the student demonstrators had arrived at the DPR building in Jakarta, dressed in their respective university jackets. HMI members, recognisable by their green jackets and distinctive green, black, and white caps, were the first to arrive, followed by students from Mercubuana University wearing red jackets.

In this protest, Trisakti University students carried the banner of ‘Tritura’, or the Three Demands of the People. Their demands included national economic and political recovery and the restoration of civilian supremacy.

Arief Rizquna, a student representative and the Foreign Minister of the Trisakti Student Executive Board, stated at the scene: ‘First, we want national economic and political recovery. Second, we want to eradicate incompetence among state officials today. And third, we want to restore civilian supremacy.’
