DPR Leadership Receives 11 Representatives from Labour Protest Group
The leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) received 11 representatives from the labour group currently protesting at the DPR RI building. The DPR leadership listened to the input provided by the workers conducting the demonstration today.
The meeting took place in the Abdul Muis room, Kura-kura building, DPR RI, Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/09/2026). The labour representatives were received by the Deputy Chairmen of the DPR, Saan Mustopa and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.
Saan initially expressed his gratitude to the labour representatives for their attendance. He ensured that the input from the labour representatives would be followed up within the working group (Panja).
“We thank you all for being here to convey various aspirations and demands. What has been presented by all of you will be followed up and communicated, specifically within the Working Group. Mr Cucun will provide further clarification,” said Saan during the meeting.
Saan noted that the Labour Protection Bill is currently being processed within Commission IX of the DPR. He subsequently invited the labour representatives to present their feedback.
“The Working Group for the Labour Protection Bill is indeed currently underway in Commission IX,” he stated.
“To save time, since there are 11 representatives from the groups present, I will allow you to decide whether all 11 wish to present their various aspirations regarding the 11 demands from today’s protest, or if certain representatives will speak on behalf of the group. The floor is yours,” he added.
