DPR Hajj Supervisory Team Determined to Monitor Services for Sick Pilgrims
The first group of the DPR RI Hajj Supervisory Team 2026 departed for the Holy Land on Saturday (16/5) from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Banten.
Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Cucun Ahmad Samsurijal, stated that the DPR Hajj Supervisory Team 2026 will undertake several tasks to ensure that all preparation and implementation processes for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage run smoothly.
Evaluation and monitoring will be conducted, particularly regarding the provision of services for Hajj pilgrims, from catering to accommodation.
“We will check everything. Including the commitment from the ministries involved in the Hajj pilgrimage, as agreed upon during the Panja (Working Committee), regarding the number of pilgrims per room and the distance of the hotels in Medina,” he said before departing for the Holy Land.
In addition, the team will focus on monitoring the services provided by Hajj organizers to sick pilgrims.
The report received by the DPR Hajj Supervisory Team 2026 indicates that there are still several pilgrims from various groups who have been left behind due to illness.
“We will check how many need to be transported with an ambulance or whether they can be transported with the next group. This is what we need to ensure before all pilgrims are transported to Mecca,” he said.
The team will also strive to ensure the provision of adequate facilities for sick pilgrims so that they can continue to perform their pilgrimage properly.
“We will ensure the mechanism for transporting them to Mecca. Whether it will be by ambulance or, for example, those who are recovering will be grouped with the last group departing for Mecca,” he said.
