The 2026 DPR Hajj Oversight Team has requested that pilgrims maintain order during the performance of the fifth pillar of Islam. This request was made by Saan Mustofa, a member of the DPR Hajj Oversight Team, during an inspection of pilgrim hotels on Saturday (23/5).

Saan stated that while performing his oversight duties, he received complaints from several pilgrims from Bekasi. The complaints concerned pilgrims smoking indiscriminately in hotels, which triggered fire alarms. Saan noted that the sound of the hotel alarms startled many pilgrims, causing those with heart conditions and the elderly to suffer health flare-ups.

“When the hotel alarm sounds, it causes shock, right? People ask, ‘What is happening?’ Consequently, pilgrims with heart disease or the elderly can experience sudden health issues. Therefore, maintaining order among ourselves is vital,” he said.

In addition to maintaining order, Saan also urged pilgrims to prioritise their health. He emphasised that this is essential for pilgrims to participate in the peak of the Hajj rituals at Armuzna. He noted that the current temperature in Saudi Arabia is quite high, even hotter than in Karawang, West Java.

“The most important thing, once again, is to maintain your health. Health is number one; get enough rest so that when we depart on Monday, our physical condition, our bodies, and our stamina are fit, healthy, and vigorous, allowing all stages of the pilgrimage to be completed well. So, once again, health is the top priority right now,” he said.
