DPR Forms Supervisory Team to Oversee Febrie Adriansyah Corruption Case
The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III has intervened in the case of Febrie Adriansyah by forming a Supervisory Team (Timwas) to oversee the handling of the matter. Febrie Adriansyah, the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), has officially resigned and been named a suspect in an alleged corruption case by the National Police.
“Today, Saturday, 11 July 2026, the Attorney General (ST Burhanuddin) has accepted the resignation of Mr Febrie Adriansyah from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, in a statement on Saturday.
Chairman of DPR Commission III, Habiburokhman, asserted that the commission would form a Supervisory Team to ensure the legal process continues to completion and provides legal certainty. “DPR Commission III is fully committed to overseeing the handling of this case until it is resolved with legal certainty by forming a Supervisory Team,” Habiburokhman stated in a written release.
He stressed that the resignation should not weaken or halt the ongoing law enforcement process. According to him, all stages of case handling must proceed professionally, objectively, and in accordance with statutory regulations.
DPR Commission III has also officially formed a Law Enforcement Supervisory Working Committee (Panja) to oversee the investigation into the corruption allegations involving the former Jampidsus. The formation of the Panja follows Febrie’s resignation from the Attorney General’s Office and aims to ensure the legal process runs its course.
Through this Panja, Commission III will exercise its supervisory function over the case handling conducted by the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Attorney General’s Office. “The resignation of the Jampidsus must not weaken or stop the ongoing law enforcement process,” Habiburokhman emphasised.
In addition to overseeing the legal process, Commission III reminded all law enforcement and security institutions to maintain solidarity in handling the case. The DPR believes that eradicating corruption requires inter-agency synergy, and therefore, no conflicts or friction should arise that could disrupt the law enforcement process.
Commission III also requested that the Attorney General’s Office form an independent investigative team to handle the case. The team is expected to be staffed by personnel free from any affiliation with officials or parties linked to those under investigation, ensuring the process remains objective and trusted by the public.
“DPR Commission III also requests the Attorney General’s Office to form an independent investigative team to probe the case allegedly involving Mr FA, composed of a team sterile from officials and unaffiliated with Mr FA,” said Habiburokhman.
Habiburokhman also called on all state law enforcement and security institutions, from the Indonesian National Police and the Attorney General’s Office to the Indonesian National Armed Forces, to remain solid, united, and strengthen synergy in carrying out their respective duties. He stated that all these institutions must share a common vision in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes, particularly the commitment to firm and uncompromising corruption eradication.
The Gerindra Party faction politician further emphasised that alleged criminal acts of corruption are actions involving individuals or rogue elements and should not be viewed as a representation or policy of the institution. He therefore warned against confrontation or sectoral ego among law enforcement agencies. “The country needs its law enforcement officers to be united to move forward. We in Commission III will continue to ensure the supervisory function runs optimally so that inter-agency cooperation remains robust and on the right track,” he concluded.
The Attorney General’s Office stated that Febrie’s move was a form of commitment to maintaining integrity, objectivity, and neutrality in the law enforcement process, given that the National Police are currently conducting legal proceedings involving his name. Despite the resignation of the top leadership handling corruption cases at the Attorney General’s Office, Anang confirmed that operations at the institution’s headquarters would not be disrupted. “The Attorney General’s Office respects this decision and ensures that all duties and functions of case handling within the Jampidsus environment can proceed normally and in accordance with applicable mechanisms,” he asserted. The Attorney General’s Office also urged all parties to respect the ongoing legal process at the police while upholding the principle of presumption of innocence.
