DPR Forms Corruption Case Oversight Team Following Jampidsus Resignation
The Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Habiburokhman, has revealed plans to form an oversight team to ensure the handling of corruption cases continues. This action follows the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). ‘Commission III of the DPR RI is fully committed to overseeing the handling of this case until it is resolved with legal certainty by forming an Oversight Team,’ he stated on Saturday, 11 July 2026. He said Febrie’s resignation must not hinder the law enforcement process for corruption cases currently being handled by Jampidsus. He assessed that this momentum should instead be utilised by law enforcement officials to complete investigations professionally and transparently. Habiburokhman also requested that the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police continue to work independently without intervention, despite allegations of individual involvement in the cases under investigation. ‘This alleged corruption incident involves individuals, not institutional policy or representation. Therefore, there must be no confrontation or sectoral ego conflict between agencies,’ he said. According to him, Commission III will optimise its oversight function to ensure coordination between the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police is maintained throughout the case handling process. ‘The country needs its law enforcement officials to be united in order to move forward. We in Commission III will continue to ensure the oversight function runs optimally so that inter-agency cooperation remains strong and on the right track,’ he stated. It was previously reported that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin had accepted the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. The news was conveyed by the Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, through a written statement on Saturday, 11 July 2026. ‘The Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, ST Burhanuddin, has accepted the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah from his position as Jampidsus,’ Anang said.
