DPR Finalises Preparations for 2026 MPR Annual Session and Joint DPR-DPD Session

Acting Secretary General of the DPR RI, Suprihartini, has stated that preparations for the MPR Annual Session, the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, and the DPR Plenary Session scheduled for Friday, 14 August 2026, have entered their final phase. Suprihartini explained that the three secretariats general (MPR, DPR, and DPD) continue to coordinate intensively under the direction of the institutional leadership. A preliminary rehearsal is scheduled for today and tomorrow, followed by a full dress rehearsal on Thursday, 13 August. “Alhamdulillah, for the preparations for the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, as well as the DPR Plenary Session on 14 August, we from the three secretariats general continue to coordinate. Tomorrow a preliminary rehearsal will be held, and on the 13th a full dress rehearsal will be conducted,” Suprihartini said at the DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/8). Given that the agenda falls on a Friday, Suprihartini confirmed that the entire joint session is designed to conclude before Friday prayer time. Based on cross-institutional protocol agreements, the main agenda is targeted to finish before 11:00 WIB. “That is correct (finishing before Friday prayers). The Head of the DPD Protocol Bureau also conveyed that it has been decided the session will finish around 10:47 WIB. Hopefully, it will go according to schedule,” she stated. To ensure the event runs smoothly, the joint secretariat has held technical coordination meetings with ministries, agencies, and security personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri). Regarding the attendance of VVIP guests, including former presidents and vice presidents, the secretariat is still compiling the attendance confirmation list through coordination with the protocol teams of relevant ministries and institutions.
