DPR Efficiency: Meetings Without Snacks, Lights Off at 18.00, Lift Usage Restricted
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Secretary General of the DPR, Indra Iskandar, has outlined in detail the efficiency and energy-saving measures being implemented by the DPR amid the global crisis.
Indra emphasised that these efforts are in follow-up to directives from President Prabowo Subianto and DPR leadership to optimise the use of resources and budgets.
“Efficiency will be applied to several activities that directly impact the reduction in energy and budget usage without diminishing the effectiveness of performance achievement,” Indra told Kompas.com on Monday (30/3/2026).
Indra stated that electricity in the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, will be switched off at the latest by 18.00 WIB if there are no longer any activities taking place.
Meanwhile, lift usage will also be limited to just 70 per cent.
The following are the DPR’s efficiency measures:
- Regulation of operations in the DPR RI building and complex
Electricity usage in the office environment by switching off the power supply once it is no longer in use, at the latest by 18.00 local time.
Operation of room cooling (air conditioning/AC) from 07.00-18.00 local time.
Lifts and escalators will be operational from 07.00-18.00 local time. After 18.00, efficiency in lift usage/operations will be implemented to 70 per cent.
Telephone and water usage adjusted according to needs. Operational hours for sports facilities that impact electricity usage at the latest until 18.00 local time.
Savings on fuel for operational vehicles of mid-level high officials, primary high officials, and administrative officials.
Operational vehicles for employees adjusted according to the scheduled work-from-home (WFH)/work from anywhere (WFA).
- Regulation of support activities for meetings in the DPR Secretariat
Internal meetings in each Echelon I unit will only provide main meals as meeting refreshments.
Meetings conducted online will not provide any meeting refreshments.
Employees are urged to reduce the use of private vehicles and switch to public transport.
