JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The World Peace Parliamentary Caucus (WPPC) plans to visit the embassies of several countries involved in conflicts, from the United States to Iran, as part of a global peace campaign.

“An important agenda will be visiting the embassies of the involved countries: the United States, then Iran, possibly countries in the Gulf and others,” said DPR RI member from the Golkar Party faction, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tanjung, at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta on Monday (6/4/2026).

Doli emphasised that this step is part of Indonesia’s parliament’s concrete efforts to push for conflict resolution through diplomatic channels, not military force.

“This is part of the campaign to create world peace,” Doli stated.

“This afternoon, I, along with several colleagues from DPR and DPD RI members, will deliver or declare a caucus,” Doli said.

Doli stressed that the formation of this caucus, consisting of about 30 parliament members, represents a form of concern as well as a moral and political movement by the Indonesian parliament to maintain world peace.

This is because the current global situation shows a trend of increasingly widespread conflicts, from the Russia-Ukraine war since 2022, the Israel-Palestine conflict in 2023, to the latest tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

“So this has nothing to do with any political party background. This is a joint movement because we all love peace,” Doli said.

“We are threatened by an energy crisis, we are threatened by an economic crisis. The situation in Indonesia is getting harder for our people day by day because of that war,” Doli revealed.

In addition, he highlighted the deaths of three TNI soldiers in a UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon as evidence that the impact of global conflicts is directly felt by Indonesia.

In its declaration, the World Peace Parliamentary Caucus expressed several stances, including condemning all forms of military aggression that expand conflicts and cause civilian casualties.

The caucus also affirmed that war is not a legitimate solution to international conflicts and contravenes international humanitarian law.
