Three former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)—Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung—along with Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim, are suspected of involvement in two separate corruption cases. The House leadership has expressed concern over the situation. “Naturally, the DPR is concerned and regrets the various incidents that have recently occurred simultaneously within agencies and ministries, involving both the Attorney General’s Office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). We are faced with the reality that a deputy minister, the head of BGN, and his staff are entangled in various legal issues,” said DPR Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa during a press conference at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (4/6/2026). Saan then reminded that state administrators in ministries and agencies should have firmly upheld President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to eradicating corruption. Saan believes the president’s aides should have avoided corrupt practices. “The president always asserts at every opportunity his unwavering and repeated commitment to eradicating corruption; indeed, his speeches are extraordinary. Therefore, his aides should uphold that commitment by consistently maintaining their conduct, integrity, credibility, and professionalism as assistants to the president, whether in ministries or agencies,” he explained. Echoing Saan, DPR Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal also expressed concern over the legal proceedings faced by state officials in recent days. However, he confirmed that the DPR would respect all legal processes involving the suspects. “Regarding the legal process mechanism, we respect what is being carried out by the Attorney General’s Office concerning the BGN, and by the KPK regarding Immigration. We respect all ongoing processes and appreciate the government’s spirit under the President in enforcing the law to combat corruption,” said Cucun. Cucun confirmed that the DPR would continue to exercise its oversight function, particularly over the two state institutions implicated in the corruption cases. “The DPR will certainly continue to enhance its oversight regarding the internal governance audit of the BGN itself, including the planning and budgeting processes up to the post-audit stage. The DPR will keep conducting such oversight in accordance with its functional duties,” he added. Not only did they intervene, but the three are also suspected of being affiliated with several SPPG (Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit) foundations. Through these affiliations, the foundations received billions of rupiah daily. “The foundation received billions of rupiah in incentives every day,” said Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (3/6). “The foundations are affiliated with, among others, those owned by Mr DH, Mr SS, and Mr LP,” he added. The Attorney General’s Office also revealed that Dadan and his associates intervened with commitment-making officials, leading to mark-ups in the prices of goods and services during the procurement process. Meanwhile, the KPK has named Silmy Karim and several other parties as suspects following a sting operation at the West Jakarta Immigration Office. The KPK has charged Silmy and the others with extortion and gratification. “In this case, the alleged articles used are Article 12 letter e concerning the alleged criminal act of corruption by extortion in processing immigration documents, compounded by Article 12B regarding other receipts or gratification,” explained KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Thursday (4/6).
